This puzzle is based on an original called the "Puzz Ring". This style of ring was popularized in Europe in the 15th century and was actually used for official engagement and wedding rings. Christian reformer Martin Luther is even known to have worn one. It is also rumored to prove its wearer's adultery... when it breaks into pieces. A beautiful story encased in this little puzzle.
